Job title:
Undergraduate Sandwich Intern: Capturing critical data from botanical books
Company
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
Job description
Full Title: Undergraduate Sandwich Intern: Investigating best practice in capturing critical data from botanical booksEvery year a large number of books are published containing new botanical information. Such science-based changes and additions are critical data for accurate conservation and policy decisions as well as the basis for future science. Most of which are not available in electronic form, so it is essential that such data are databased to make the results of the science widely available. Therefore, at Kew we screen books for new data and incorporate that into the International Plant Names Index (IPNI) and the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP) databases.Hours of workFull timeContract TypeFixed Term (FTA)Contract start dateSeptember 2025Contract end date12 monthsSalary£24,535 per annum (pro rata) [Intern Grade]DirectorateScienceLocationKew Gardens, Richmond, HybridClosing Date11/05/2025Documents(PDF, 279.26kb)
