Introduction

description of the Assignment:

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Reforms and Innovation in Government for High-Performance Project (the ‘Project’) has been providing support to the federal government in key reform initiatives for the last eight years. The reform agenda is anchored in various themes including performance management, evidence-based policy planning, and strengthening governance and institutional capacity of public sector.  The project’s strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), UNDP Strategic Plan’s signature solution (governance) and UNDP Country Programme Document’s relevant output 1.1: Open, agile, accountable, and future-ready governance institutions and systems in place to co-create and deliver solutions to accelerate transparent and equitable service delivery and SDG achievement. Under its outputs focusing on institutional strengthening and evidence-based policy making, the Project is working on systemic reforms to revitalize core governance institutions and streamline the role of the state. To keep the momentum going for governance reforms, the Project’s key donor agency, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office through its National Governance Programme (NGP), continues to support the Project in delivering its priorities and scale up its interventions on strengthening the overall governance framework.
