What is the opportunity?

The Vice-President and Regional Sales Manager is a key leadership role for RBC Wealth Management Financial Services Inc. (RBC WMFS) in maximizing performance across all key business performance measures (market contribution, volume growth, operational efficiency, and employee engagement), and is responsible for developing and growing the insurance business within the RBC Wealth Management (Canada) platform. You will strive for successful achievement of agreed upon goals and objectives, driving a high level of business performance, operational effectiveness, employee engagement, superior client experience, and sustainable value creation for RBC shareholders. You will act as a key liaison with head office partners to ensure operational alignment and help build and execute effective routines. You will champion partnering across roles, channels, operations, and risk partners to bring the best of RBC WMFS to clients.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for achievement of sales plan coordinated with regional strategies and initiatives.
  • Establish sales plan expectations and ensure sales team is aligned to deliver.
  • Sales management of approximately 15 Estate Planning Specialists (EPSs) in designated region.
  • Institute coaching routines with EPSs to ensure consistency of approach and execution on regional priorities.
  • Execute change and build team’s skills in change management and prioritization, supporting them through proactive communication, issue resolution, and effective decision-making.
  • Ongoing supervision of compliance to ensure proper risk management.
  • Responsible for the ongoing recruitment of top talent (field and head office).
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitive intelligence.
  • Build strategic alliances to enhance RBC WMFS’s growth opportunities cross-enterprise.
  • Manage key relationships with third-party suppliers.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with partners across Canada
  • Progressive industry and general business experience (10+ years) with a focus on multi-line insurance in retail
  • University degree or equivalent, preferably in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or other related discipline
  • Prior experience in leading a diverse team with bottom line accountability
  • Experience in advancing advisor effectiveness in sales and service practices (e.g. contact management, client discovery, new acquisition, etc.)
  • Proven experience in networking, assessing, and hiring qualified talent in the market, engaging potential candidates to begin the selection process
  • Strong business acumen and execution skills with the ability to translate strategies and business plans into action and outcomes
  • Exceptional prioritization and time management skills with ability to optimize productivity through synergistic collaboration
  • Aptitude for working under tight deadlines, high volumes, and quick decision-making skills
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver with change management leadership
  • Completion or enrolment in an advanced financial services designation, such as F.Pl., CLU, FEA, TEP, CHS, etc.
