Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?
RBC is a leading provider of asset based loans for a wide variety of industries and client situations across Canada. As a Vice President with the Origination team for RBC’s Asset Based Lending (ABL) business you will be responsible for achieving business results by acquiring new clients, growing revenue, enhancing customer loyalty and closing new ABL business. Your ability to maintain awareness of local market conditions and the competitive environment, while pursuing opportunities aligned to the bank’s risk appetite will lead to your success in the role. You will work closely with market contacts and RBC partners to identify opportunities and to provide advice and recommendations.Key Relationships:The Vice President will be play a critical role in the delivery of RBC’s ABL product to corporate clients and will also work closely with ABL Senior Management Team, Origination, Field Exam and Portfolio Management colleagues, Commercial Account Managers & CFS Finance, CCG Relationship Managers and CCG Finance.What will you do?Acquire new corporate clients by partnering with the RBC team to deliver advice and solutions tailored to meet client needsDemonstrate strong understanding of the ABL product, along with other types of financing, and be able to relay to clients in an understandable way.Be recognized as a product expert and build ABL’s brand within RBC and to the external market.Lead all new business and prospecting activities for ABL in Quebec.Develop and foster external business referral sources through networking, your centres of influence and active engagement in market activitiesDemonstrate good knowledge and business sense to identify opportunities, gather necessary information and negotiate deal structure.Prepare marketing material and presentations to both internal and external partners.Leverage other RBC partners, products and platforms to encourage internal references.Work collaboratively with internal and external partners.What do you need to succeed?Must HaveDegree in Business or other quantitative discipline5+ years of experience in client facing roles in a commercial banking or ABL environmentProven networking and client acquisition skills and ability to cultivate strong partner relationshipsExperience winning & closing transactions and exceeding sales objectivesSelf-starter that is able to work independently and effectively prioritize various transactions and demands from partners internally and externallyStrong negotiation skills and excellent verbal communication skillsDemonstrated financial/business acumen and experience in conducting financial/risk analysis to structure banking solutionsBilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking needs.Nice to HaveMBA and/or CFA or other professional designationFamiliarity with RBC credit processes and loan documentationWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
