Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?This Leadership role contributes to the strategic business priorities of revenue growth and improving client experience by leading a team of Financing Specialists and supporting the Mid-Market Commercial Client Team in meeting the credit needs of clients while delivering a differentiated advice experience.Coaching the team to excel in credit capability, rewarding and recognizing their accomplishments or achievements in a way that is meaningful to them; instrumental in supporting on credit quality improvements across the Region. Leading change within the organization by being an advocate and sponsor. Build engagement and lead your team to achieve the desired business outcomes. Developing and maintaining an extensive network of partners within the CAG, GRM and RBC partners.Key AccountabilitiesThe role has four main focus areas:Client ExperienceCreates a collaborative environment by engaging with VP’s in routines to collaborate on meeting client’s credit needsOversees the development and delivery of a coordinated client contact strategy involving the entire CFS relationship team and referrals to RBC partners.Represents and promotes the RBC brand by participating in bank events and the local business communityCoach the team to take ownership of client problems escalating concerns to appropriate partnersInspires team to work with colleagues to execute a coordinated client management strategy as guided by the client prioritization and annual review requirementsSupports the team in escalation of senior credit development and approvals of credit for SLR and ComCom reviewClient Solutions and New Client AcquisitionCoach and influence your team to deliver credit solutions to meet or exceed client needs and proactively identify additional opportunities to grow products / servicesManages the credit renewal process for the region in collaboration with the VP’s, in an effective and proactive manner with consideration to fluctuating volumes, time required to complete analysis, structuring, documenting and negotiating transactions and balance capacity as needed to meet the needs of the portfolio.Reinforces the importance of setting pricing and fees within prescribed guidelines on the portfolio jointly with VP, understanding the need to balance sales results, portfolio profitability, and relationship buildingWorks with the CFS relationship team and CAG/GRM partners to monitor that credit solutions are provided to clients in a timely mannerEnsures each team member works their network of clients, external industry and business contacts to generate new business opportunities for RBCEmployee Capability and EngagementDemonstrates commitment to team work and collaboration by coaching, mentoring and assisting colleagues to meet the credit needs of all clientsCoach the team members to maximize the use of technology to follow through on all client strategies, sales activities and opportunities as well as to build corporate memory and enable the continuity of client servicingEngages in workforce planning with RVP CFS and maintain an active talent pipeline; support employees in understanding and navigating career options and provide clarity and guidance on their developmental activitiesAssists the RVP in providing credit coaching to all VP’s on structuring complex transactions, introducing credit process improvement, policy changes and trends or issues related to the portfolioContinues to develop a centre of expertise in credit that will support the field in training and adviceBusiness and Risk ManagementIn partnership with Portfolio Quality Manager, provide expert advice to VP’s to help them resolve complex issues related to ongoing portfolio managementExercises good judgment when making all decisions, balancing shareholder risk and client experience.Keeps up to date on all communications including changes to RBC policy and procedures and ensure others do as well.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveProven track record in financial and credit analysis in support of exceptional client relationship managementMinimum three years’ experience in commercial lending at a major financial institutionUndergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance with strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills, as well as an ability to analyze company financial statementsStrong skills with Microsoft Office, as well as experience with emerging resources, communications and technology (e.g. online data resources, web-based meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications)Professional verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail in both written work and financial analysisStrong organizational skills, ability to perform well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, while meeting time-sensitive deadlinesNice-to-haveMBA, CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFAWork experience in corporate lending / corporate financeTrained in credit and accounting with an ability to manage complex conceptsWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
