The VP of Global Sales and Marketing will lead global sales and marketing efforts to align strategy and execution with corporate objectives. The incumbent will gain an in-depth understanding of the marketing and sales plan, key metrics, and success measures. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies, including pricing, product, distribution, and promotion, while managing both direct and indirect sales teams.The VP will collaborate with the Operations Management group to ensure the effective implementation of corporate strategies, providing leadership and oversight within the sales and marketing disciplines.WHAT WE OFFERWe estimate the salary range for this position to be between $160,000 – $200,000 annually. Mustang will consider candidates with relevant industry experience. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.   • Collaborate with the Operations Management group to develop an unified strategic marketing plan aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and grow the Mustang Survival brand.
  • Analyze market trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks that impact business outcomes.
  • Manage product lifecycle, including market research, brand management, and product development.
  • Ensure product mix and pricing strategies maximize profitability.
  • Lead ecommerce and digital marketing efforts to enhance Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) engagement.
  • Develop global outreach strategies, optimizing assets in key countries to drive market share.
  • Align social media and live experiences with marketing goals to reach global audiences.

Sales Management

  • Lead corporate sales activities to align with the strategic marketing plan.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with major customers, trade associations, and the broader community.
  • Integrate strategic marketing and sales efforts to achieve corporate performance objectives.
  • Identify and leverage global sales opportunities through cross-border synergies and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies to optimize shelf and market share.
  • Explore new market opportunities using innovative business development strategies.
  • Transition sales operations from independent teams to in-house teams, aligning resources to meet regional needs.

Customer Service Leadership

  • Lead corporate customer service activities to support the strategic marketing plan.
  • Oversee customer interface issues, including quotations, proposals, contract reviews, and order processing.

Management Leadership

  • Lead team development, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Optimize processes, systems, and workflows for better performance.
  • Set expectations, define goals, and manage performance through clear and concise communication.
  • Foster a collaborative, value-driven culture, encouraging empathy, confidence, and informed decision-making.
  • Refine systems and processes to address inefficiencies across departments.
  • Establish and manage short- and long-term operating and financial objectives for assigned divisions.
  • Ensure alignment of activities with corporate strategy, including marketing, national sales, customer service, and federal government sales.
  • Manage the marketing and sales staff, including defining responsibilities, performance objectives, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Marketing or related field, supplemented by 10-15 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in senior management , with a track record of learning high-performance teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment while effectively coaching and motivating team members.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience managing customer relationships on technical and contractual matters.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, particularly those related to the US & Canadian Coast Guards, is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare proposals and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Knowledge of marine and aerospace products and services is an asset.
