TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. Job Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a CFA designation plus a relevant undergraduate degree.
- 5+ years of experience working in financial services with direct experience in the mutual fund product management preferred
- Knowledge of mutual funds, segregated funds, ETF’s and other investment product related vehicles including a working knowledge of major investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income and equity portfolio managers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- A self-starter who has the ability to function with minimal supervision and works well independently as well as within the broader team
- Able to thrive in a fast paced, time sensitive, exciting team environment
- Business acumen
- Bilingual, French- English is an asset

Job Details
The Vice President, Retail Product Strategy and Management acts as a subject matter expert on all things related to product. Supporting the Retail Mutual Fund Product Management team, the Vice President will primarily be responsible for supporting the continuous operation and growth of the Retail Mutual Fund Product Suite. The Vice President will be responsible for being the subject matter expert for a portion of the product suite and will develop insights for the Product & Strategy Group by continuously monitoring product performance, industry and product peer group developments, reviewing product disclosures and marketing material and identifying information or disclosure gaps and opportunities for improvement. The Vice President will also be responsible for managing smaller scale projects as well as other routine tasks.
Accountabilities
Have a sound understanding of TDAM’s general investment philosophy and investment styles
Develop a deep understanding of TDAM products within an assigned asset class and synthesize that knowledge with competitive and industry research to develop and deliver product positioning in support of sales.
Support the continuous development and improvement of the product suite in these areas:
Mutual Fund Product Support
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of TD Mutual Funds within your responsibility and provide continuous product analysis against peer group and identify opportunities to promote and position TD Mutual Funds against competitors
- Maintain overview of TD Mutual Funds to identify opportunities to promote individual funds, such as superior performance, anniversaries, sectoral investment trends and trends in competitive landscape
- Ensure public disclosure of TD Mutual Fund portfolio characteristics on TD website and third-party websites or social media outlets is accurate and timely and take corrective action as required
Process & Procedures
- Support the maintenance of the existing suite by helping to prepare timely regulatory disclosures, distribution analysis and declaration, assist in the preparation of annual and semi-annual reporting
- Monitor reporting requirements and ensure documents and analysis are prepared on a timely basis
- Act as liaison between Product & Strategy Group and other internal and external service providers
New Product Research & Analysis
- Assist the Product & Strategy team in the research and development of new mutual funds through identifying new market opportunities
- Assist in the preparation of new product documentation, filing requirements and materials necessary for a successful product launch
Marketing Oversight and Recommendations
- Assist in the promotion of existing mutual funds by supporting communication and information flow between the Product & Strategy Group and the Marketing Group
- Act as a point of contact for Product oriented questions and coordinate Subject Matter Expert’s comments necessary to fully answer queries as necessary
- Regularly monitor marketing platforms, both internal and external for errors and omissions
- Identify marketing opportunities to highlight fund milestones and achievements such as anniversaries, outperformance
Market Analysis
Prepare regular competitive analysis across multiple factors such as performance, sales growth, trading, structure and fees
