Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As the Vice-President, Real Estate, you inspire, motivate and engage a team of Relationship Managers (RMs) / Directors and Associate Directors to manage and grow RBC’s business relationships with large CRE developers and investors in BC. You promote a culture of excellence in customer service, collaboration and conservative risk management. You will lead the team in building and maintaining strong, long term client relationships and to deliver and grow sustainable profits to maintain RBC’s dominant market position.What will you do?Client ExperienceEngages with customers and colleagues across the team and in partner / product teams to holistically meet our clients’ banking needs in credit and lending and all other product lines including cash management, sustainability, Private Banking, Dominion Securities, PH&N, IRS/FX, etc. as measured by top of class Net Promoter ScoresLeading the Client Relationship Team (CRT) alongside the Director / RM; working with colleagues to plan and execute a coordinated client management strategy as guided by the client prioritization and annual review requirements.Business Development & Relationship ManagementDemonstrate your industry leadership by promoting the RBC brand and enhancing visibility by developing and maintaining a network in the business community, such as CRE developers, investors, prospects and other key stakeholdersManage the business to achieve market and sales objectives through focus and dedication to effective sales management routines that add value for the team while balancing both operational and credit risk requirementsEmployee Capability & EngagementProvide leadership, direction and ongoing coaching to the Real Estate specialized Relationship Managers, building employee engagement through focused sales routines and risk managementLead and advocate change within the organization by building engagement and inspiring your team to deliver solutions to meet client needs in a timely manner and proactively identify additional opportunities to promote and grow the RBC brandRisk ManagementLeads by example in diligently assessing and managing credit, operational, market, AML and other risks.Proactively monitor the portfolio to protect the Bank, taking swift action and ensuring positive outcomes.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveMinimum 10+ years commercial banking experience preferredAstute business acumen and strong knowledge of assessing, structuring and managing large complex real estate credit exposuresProven track record in leading and coaching professional sales teams to high standards of performanceActively foster continuous learning mindset and professional development of team members as well as model own commitment to development by actively growing, developing and learning as a leader and coachStrong knowledge of credit management, product and pricing policies, privacy, code of conduct and anti-money laundering requirements, and overall business center operations.Strong sales orientation and a demonstrated passion for putting clients firstNice-to-haveRelated experience and connections within the Real Estate community across British ColumbiaStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage a geographically diverse and mobile teamA post-secondary diploma/degree, MBA, Accounting designation (CPA/CA/CGA/CMA) or CFAWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
