Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a VP/CFO. The VP/CFO must have an ability to work well with the President and other senior executives. As well, the VP/CFO would require strong analytical, strategic-planning, operational and communication skills. A combination of industry and public accounting experience is preferred. Key responsibilities

– Manage hiring and training for accounting and finance staff

– Provide the finance and accounting functions with strategic management

– Knowledge of financial consolidations.

– Manage the relationship with independent auditors

– Identify and control business risks and insurance requirements

– Handle investor and investment institution relationships

– Maintain the integrity of a company’s financial information and suggest improvements

– Supervise vendor relationships

– Supervise all personnel in the finance department

– Oversee implementations and upgrades for financial systems

– Ensure staff compliance with provincial and federal laws and company’s policies

– Analyze if cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations

– Supervise accounting policies, procedures and internal controls

– Public accounting experience a plus

– MBA or CPA a must

– Inventory experience is a huge asset.

– Consolidations knowledge is a must.

– Strong Microsoft Excel skills required

– 10+ years’ experience in accounting or finance

– 8+ years’ management experience

– Strong communication and presentation skills

– Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure

– Proven organizational and leadership skills required
