Robert Half Finance and Accounting is currently working with a well respected organization in the Pembroke area who is looking to add a Director of Finance to their team. The Director of Finance oversees the strategic planning and financial management for their organization and their duties encompass accounting, cost analysis, budgeting, and internal auditing within the organization.This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days on-site.Advantages:-Excellent benefits, Employee Assistance Program-Health spending account-PensionResponsibilities:-Manages the entire purchasing cycle, encompassing the receipt of invoices, requisitions, and travel claims, securing necessary approvals, data processing, filing, and handling payments through cheques or Electronic Funds Transfer-Handles month-end general ledger transactions, including payroll and bank transactions, and performs monthly bank reconciliations-Oversees all accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely invoice preparation, cash receipt handling, deposit slip generation, and posting bank transactions to the general ledger and sub-ledgers-Maintains computerized accounting records for Trust Accounts and charitable donations, including tracking receipts, disbursements, and general ledger entries-Represent the organization at provincial meetings and on both internal and external committees-Capability to promote equity and address the impact of systemic oppression, collaborating with the finance team to ensure fair practices in program and service delivery-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and statistical statements and reports as required by law, and present them to the Executive Director, management team and high level executives-Deliver timely and insightful analysis of financial results compared to forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, identifying and communicating the key drivers of financial performance-Advise and assist the Executive Director and Managers in implementing effective procedures for the continuous control of costs and expendituresQualifications:-Professional Accounting Designation-5+ years of professional work experience in a similar role-Familiarity with both manual and automated financial and accounting systems and controls-In-depth understanding of financial theories, principles, and practices-Outstanding working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Oracle-Proven ability to exemplify and enforce compliance with policies, procedures, programs, practices, guidelines, and work routines-Extensive knowledge of the broader public service system for children and families, along with relevant legislation and flexible funding resources-Competence in managing various administrative functions, including property management, purchasing, and staff communications-Capability to contribute to the senior team, ensuring the efficient operation of the organization and providing leadership-Commitment to strong ethical standards in financial management-Fluently bilingual in both official languages (English, French) is considered a strong assetIf this position interests you, please do not hesitate to call us at 613-236-4253 or apply online today!Job Reference Number: 0013009953Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
