If you’re a senior nurse or experienced Ward Manager looking for a rewarding opportunity to lead a specialist rehabilitation unit, we want to hear from you!Overview:Compass Associates is excited to be recruiting a Ward Manager for an established rehabilitation unit,which offers specialist mental health treatment to males aged 18 and over. In this role, you will lead and inspire a nursing team to deliver exceptional care to service users in a recovery-focused environment. As a Ward Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving positive change, empowering recovery, and ensuring the highest standards of care.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven leadership skills, a passion for high-quality care, and the desire to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals.Role Responsibilities:As the Ward Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising the nursing team to provide high-quality care to service users, ensuring all clinical standards are met and improved in accordance with the Clinical Governance framework.
- Acting as a clinical leader and expert resource, supporting and developing staff to deliver the best possible care.
- Providing leadership and guidance to promote teamwork, a positive working culture, and staff engagement.
- Managing the ward budget, working alongside the senior nurse, and supporting the on-call service.
- Designing and implementing training and development initiatives to promote staff welfare and improve care delivery.
- Leading by example, acting as a role model to all staff and ensuring a collaborative, learning-driven environment.
- Supporting the delivery of individualised care pathways for service users, using the least restrictive practice principles and ensuring safe, effective treatment.
- Ensuring that care delivery remains person-centred and that service users are actively involved in their recovery journey.
What We’re Looking For:
- A relevant nursing qualification (RN, RMN, or equivalent).
- NMC registration.
- Proven leadership experience in a similar setting (mental health, rehabilitation, or care).
- Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and high standards of care.
- A natural ability to nurture talent, motivate teams, and foster a positive, collaborative environment.
- A caring, compassionate attitude with a passion for improving the lives of others.
- Experience in managing budgets and supporting operational aspects of a ward or unit.
