Vacancy description
ISP is seeking to recruit a qualified and well experienced WASH trainer to support the implementation of the project: ALL IN ONE – integrated actions in the health, sanitation, and livestock sector to respond to epidemic-prone diseases with a One Health approach. He/She will be based in Moroto, with frequent visits to other locations within the project areas, in Karamoja Sub-Region. The incumbent will work in collaboration with other Field staff, consortium partner organizations & the Project Manager.

Position Title: WASH trainer – Moroto
Experience required: 8 years minimum
Education: Degree/Diploma in Water Engineering, Public Health or related fields
Languages: English proficiency – Karimojong native speaker
Desirable: previous experiences in the non-profit sector and in Karamoja region
Job brief: dynamic and proactive WASH expert with a strong interest in development intervention with agro-pastoral communities, addressing issues of WASH, domestic animal health, and human health; to support the design and implementation of a three-years project based on ONE HEALTH approach.
The trainer is a technical figure with expertise in the field of WASH; has excellent mediation and communication skills and a deep and accurate knowledge of the area of intervention.
The WASH trainer should:
- Support ISP and partners’ staff in WASH related activities when required;
- Provide trainings/refresher courses on WASH good practices (washing hands with soap and water and promoting the fight against open defecation);
- Creation/rehabilitation of Water User Committees in 70 Manyatta;
- Monitoring on knowledge and use of good hygienic practices at community level
- Prepare and submit timely progress reports including any obstacles affecting project implementation
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager.
Duration: 6 months contract (renewable upon performance and funds’ availability)
Location: Moroto with frequent field missions in other Districts of Karamoja
