About you:As a Waste Operations Officer, you will be instrumental in achieving our service goals. Your responsibilities will include leading teams at our Waste Transfer Stations (WTS) and working closely with contractors at Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC). You will also contribute to service enhancements by supporting waste team projects, coordinating work programs, and fostering collaboration with both internal staff and external partners.LCC are proud to offer an agile and flexible hybrid approach to working, enabling you to strike the right balance for you and the service. As a Waste Operations Officer, you’ll work both outdoors and indoors, including in our offices and various locations across the entire county of Lincolnshire enabling you to benefit from our flexible working policy.As this role requires mobility across Lincolnshire, a valid driving license is essential. You will have access to our pool vehicles for business travel around the county.The key responsibilities for this role include inspecting, monitoring, and managing HWRC, WTS, and other waste sites throughout Lincolnshire, identifying and reporting any non-compliance with EA permits, health and safety standards, infrastructure, and equipment, and organizing necessary compliance measures and repairs. You’ll also be involved in managing WTS and some HWRC staff to ensure the effective operation of facilities, providing coverage for COTC attendance, office duties, weighbridge operations, and loading shovel driving as needed.You will need to be a strong communicator, as you will collaborate with district partners on the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership to ensure seamless waste service delivery for residents. Additionally, the Waste Operations Officer will develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with both internal and external waste partners to identify opportunities for service improvement, such as finding more efficient disposal outlets.Occasional work will be required on Bank Holidays, weekends, and out-of-hours emergencies as part of a 24/7 on-call rota system.About Our OfferAlong with a competitive salary we are offering:
