You will partner closely with Private Banking stakeholders supporting credit opportunities ensuring a complete understanding and line of sight to of all relevant information prior to making credit decisions, as well as with other internal partners to ensure a complete understanding of all relevant information and operational considerations as part of the credit adjudication process. You will also provide meaningful advice and guidance from a credit risk perspective helping identify an acceptable level of objective comfort on potential credit opportunities being considered by Private Banking.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How you’ll succeedRelationship management – Ensuring effective communication is maintained throughout the credit adjudication process. Develop close working relationship with Private Bankers, Private Banking Associates, Credit Specialists, Mortgage Advisors and Regional Leadership as part of your day-to-day approach.Credit risk management – Manage as needed cross functional relationships with other credit risk teams while also being comfortable engaging other internal teams to ensure an appropriate level of oversight on key risks when needed. Able to work in a self-directed manner within a small high functioning team performing the role in a consistent and effective way.Analytical – Apply strong analytical skills with consistent attention to detail complimented by an ability to understand layers of related financial information.Who you areYou can demonstrate experience. 3+ years’ experience in Credit Adjudication and/or Commercial and Business Banking. Ability to understand and analyze financial statements.You have a degree. Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, or related field.It’s an asset. Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC) or professional designations in law, accounting or investment management considered an asset.You put our clients first.
