Job Description:Job Summary:The Well Decommissioning Manager will oversee the operational execution and business development of well decommissioning projects in the United Kingdom (UK) at Weatherford, ensuring alignment with governance standards, customer objectives, and technological advancements. This role is pivotal in driving business growth within the UK, fostering successful partnerships, and expanding market presence. The Manager will ensure engineering excellence while maintaining alignment with the company’s product lines and commercial strategies.A critical measure of success for this role will be the achievement of financial results. This includes identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, negotiating favorable terms with partners, and continuously improving financial outcomes through innovative solutions and effective resource management. The Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that optimize revenue growth, cost efficiency and profitability, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contribute positively to the company’s bottom line.Key Responsibilities:Business Development:

  • Drive business development initiatives to expand market presence and secure new well decommissioning projects within the UK.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local technology providers and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, negotiating favorable terms with partners to drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Work closely with the commercial teams to develop technical proposals and bids for well decommissioning projects.

Operational Execution:

  • Lead the operational execution of well decommissioning projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, safely, and within budget.
  • Enforce operational standards and procedures to enhance project performance and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize project designs for safety, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.

Governance:

  • In partnership with UK leadership, implement strategic decision-making processes to drive business development, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market opportunities.
  • Enforce governance frameworks that promote financial accountability and transparency in project execution.
  • Oversee the evaluation and approval of key projects, ensuring they meet financial performance targets and strategic goals.
  • In alignment with UK Management and Global Decommissioning Director, implements governance frameworks to ensure strategic alignment and compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Partnerships and Technology:

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with technology providers and stakeholders within the UK to drive commercial success and sustainability goals.
  • Identify and leverage cutting-edge technologies that enhance well decommissioning processes, leading to increased market competitiveness and profitability.
  • Drive initiatives that translate technological advancements into tangible business growth and market expansion.

Commercial Alignment:

  • Align well decommissioning strategies with the company’s goals and objectives within the UK, identifying synergies and opportunities for value creation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contribute positively to the company’s bottom line.
  • Provide strategic input into commercial decisions, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with engineering standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geosciences, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a significant focus on well decommissioning.
  • Proven track record in leading complex engineering projects, including FEED.
  • Strong experience in partnership development and technology adoption within the UK.
  • Extensive knowledge of decommissioning regulations, standards, best practices, and market dynamics in the UK.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
