Title: Packaging Tech. Specialist
Location: East Alton, IL, with the ability to transition to Clayton, MO around July 2025Salary: $70,000 – 85,000 depending on relevant related experiencePackaging Technology Specialist Essential Job Functions:

• Develop Engineering Change Orders, including Bills of Materials, drawings, vendor Scopes of Work, and units of measure sheets, to support Marketing in introducing new products and packaging changes and to provide Manufacturing and vendors with accurate and complete data.
• Manage current Department of Transportation hazardous material United Nations Performance Oriented Packaging (DOT UN-POP) certifications to ensure Winchester packaging meets all 49CFR testing and marking requirements.
• Review various documents provided by Military Contracting to determine if Winchester packaging meets all contract requirements.
• Make necessary changes to packaging, order any needed stamps from the vendor, update SAP documentation, and provide auditors and Manufacturing with Method of Pack documentation.
• Obtain and maintain French/Spanish warnings and provide accurate translations when needed for updated packaging.
• Provide support to Product Management and industrial Engineering in developing new and updated packaging for Winchester and private brand customers.
• Serve as a technical contact for our packaging vendors to resolve day-to-day issues that arise.
• Develop container graphic files for all Winchester packaging printed in-house.

Packaging Technology Specialist Minimum Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree*; Drafting, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• One year related experience.
• Packaging graphics design and project management experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; LabelWorks, SAP, TOPS, and Adobe Illustrator software skills preferred.
• Must be a detail-oriented individual with a high degree of accuracy.
• Highly motivated self-starter who can thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Knowledge of the following preferred:

• Winchester ammunition products.
• Packaging terms, warnings, drawing procedures, and specifications.
• Packaging suppliers and technology.

Location-Specific Requirements:

• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
