This is a daily rate contract role working on a hybrid model.The Wintel Infrastructure Engineer specializing in security, will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the security posture of our Windows-based server environments. You will work closely with the IT infrastructure team to design, implement, and support secure and robust Wintel solutions.Job Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server systems and associated software with a focus on security.
- Implement and manage security measures for the protection of systems, networks, and information.
- Analyze and strengthen existing server configurations to ensure they are optimized for security and performance.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
- Respond to and resolve security incidents and issues.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and other essential services with an emphasis on security configurations.
- Provide expertise in cloud technologies and virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V, ensuring secure deployments and operations.
- Document system configurations, updates, and changes in compliance with regulatory compliance requirements.
- Train and mentor team members on security best practices and technologies.
Experience RequiredEssential and Desirable Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Wintel infrastructure role with a strong focus on security.
- Proven experience with Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 administration and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, antivirus, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Experience with security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript) for automation.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals are highly preferred.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
