Teaching AssistantHavering September 2024 startAre you an experienced teaching assistant who is pro-active and keen to come up with innovative and creative to engage learners in the classroom?Tradewind are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class at a two-from entry primary school in Havering. The school are searching for a teaching assistant with experience working in schools and, ideally, experience working with children with Special Educational Needs. Starting in September 2024, the role will be a temporary position until the end of the academic year. This is a full-time role where you will be working full-time (5 days a week), from 8.30am – 3.30pm.The successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of Phonics and will have experience running Phonics and early reading interventions. The primary school is easily accessible both by car and public transport.How will you be supporting?
- Providing support to a Year 1 Class
- Managing behaviour throughout the course of the day, focusing on positive behaviour management strategies
- Supporting the pupil with classwork, organising by the teacher
- Mark children’s work and monitor their progress
- Working closely with the pupil’s parents, class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator
- Supporting the teacher with the preparation for and delivery of lessons
Requirements:
- Have experience working within a primary school as a Teaching Assistant
- Ideally, have experience working with children with SEN (such as Autism, ADHD or those with a physical disability)
- Have a strong understanding of Phonics
- Experienced leading small group interventions
- Confident working with pupils with challenging behaviour
- Hold a valid up to date clean DBS check on the update service, or be in a position to apply for one through Tradewind
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Live in the UK
