Academics are an education recruitment agency working in partnership with primary schools across South Wales. We are currently seeking a passionate and committed Year 5 Teacher for a welcoming and supportive school in Barry, starting in September 2025.This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher with a love for early Key Stage 2 learning, and a desire to nurture academic and emotional growth in young learners.Key Responsibilities:*Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum
*Support pupils in developing core skills in literacy, numeracy, and early independence
*Track and assess progress to inform planning and next steps
*Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carersMinimum Requirements:*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Academics)
*Prior experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
*Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum, with the ability to adapt for a range of learning needs
*Two professional references from the last two yearsWhether you’re an experienced KS1 teacher or an NQT/ECT looking to gain valuable classroom experience, this role offers a rewarding opportunity in a fantastic school setting.

Expected salary

£166.32 – 175 per day
