The UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic Diagnostic Imaging Department is an extremely busy department. We provide a range of services which include MRI, X-ray, CT, Ultrasound, Dexa as well as interventional radiology. It is a fast paced working environment which requires the following skills:

• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to work with discretion, sensitivity and maintain confidentiality.

• Diplomatic and tactful with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• A team player with an open and flexible attitude.
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
• Computer literate including use MS suite.
• Be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
• Ability to identify and engage in new initiatives to improve the patient experience.
• Flexibility, initiative and enthusiasm are all key to the role.

Daily Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Managing a very busy reception area and greeting patients.
• Ensuring the smooth & effective delivery of our services.
• Handling large volumes of internal & external phone calls.
• Handling, updating and organising large volumes of medical records.
• Processing insurance claim forms and handling cash.
• Liaising with multiple departments within the clinic, which will include: Consultants, Sports Physicians, Physiotherapists, Ward Manager, Finance Team, Clerical Staff etc…
• Issuing reports to various medical practitioners.

Qualifications:

• Educated to secondary level. Experience in the acute clinic setting an advantage.

Accountability:

• This position reports to and is accountable and professionally responsible to the Radiology Services Manager.

Self Development:

• Maintain a personal record of professional development.
• Attend clinic mandatory in-service programmes.
• Participate in training programmes in Hospital Information Systems in order to facilitate development of Information Technology and Computerisation.
