We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to lead our accounting operations within a mid-sized finance team. This role is ideal for a collaborative and detail-oriented professional with robust full cycle accounting experience and the leadership capabilities to supervise a growing team of up to seven.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage full cycle accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end processes
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead and mentor a team of up to 7 finance professionals, providing coaching, performance feedback, and workload management
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and advisors
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with finance leadership
• Ensure strong internal controls and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Oversee regulatory filings, tax compliance, and any necessary reporting requirements
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, including systems improvements and automation opportunities

Qualifications:

• CPA designation required
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including full cycle accounting in a mid-sized or larger organization
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring accounting teams
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (ASPE or IFRS, as applicable)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems
