Job Purpose:

The Community Mobilizer is responsible for planning and conducting community awareness sessions in Telkaif aimed at promoting water conservation and the efficient use of water resources. The Mobilizer will engage with community members through household visits, public spaces, markets, and other community gathering points to raise awareness on sustainable water practices and encourage positive behavioural change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct community awareness sessions on water conservation and the efficient use of water.
  • Deliver awareness activities in households, public spaces, markets, and other community locations.
  • Ensure awareness sessions are accessible to all community members, including men, women, youth, children, and older persons.
  • Mobilize community members and encourage their participation in awareness activities.
  • Use approved educational materials and awareness tools during sessions.
  • Respond to participants’ questions and provide accurate information regarding water conservation practices.
  • Collect attendance records and activity data for reporting purposes.
  • Prepare brief activity reports and submit them to the Project Assistant.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate awareness activities.
  • Ensure all activities are implemented in accordance with project guidelines, safeguarding principles, and organizational policies.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Education, Agriculture, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in community mobilization, awareness campaigns, outreach, or humanitarian/development projects.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse community groups.
  • Familiarity with water conservation, hygiene promotion, or environmental awareness is an advantage.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in Arabic is required; knowledge of Kurdish or English is considered an asset.
