At Four Seasons, we are powered by people and our culture enables everything we do.Financial Analyst, Global Entities (12-month contract)The Financial Analyst (12-month contract) will collaborate with the Manager, Global Entities and the rest of the Global Entity team to conduct the finance and administration of roughly 100+ global entities. The position will include various analysis for the global entities including: (i) perform day-to-day accounting and administrative duties for 150+ global entities (ii) maintaining monthly financial analysis tool to ensure the local management entity is reporting information accurately and on a timely basis; (iii) monitoring the use of the FOCUSLE standardized chart of accounts; and (iv) managing the foreign reporting information for the 150+ entities required to support the tax group.This individual in conjunction with the Financial Reporting team will also be required, where necessary, to support and assist with some of the small to mid-sized audits for Four Seasons entities in various jurisdictions such as Singapore, United Kingdom, UAE, Malta, Hong Kong, China, and the Netherlands.In addition, the Financial Analyst position will be responsible for day-to-day general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement for over 100 + entities. The position is responsible for bringing efficiencies to an already established process for wholly owned globally entities for which accounting, and finance activities are executed from the Four Seasons Corporate office in Toronto. This will entail supervisory oversight, review and approval of the junior accounting staff’s monthly tasks, and will assist with the continued implementation of Blackline reconciliations and the proposed transition of the Residential, Dutch and Singapore entities’ account payables and accounts receivable functions to the respective A/P and A/R groups in Corporate Finance.Throughout the year, the Financial Analyst together with the Manager and Senior Director will assist with building out a critical path / process for the on boarding and termination of a global entity as a result of a new contract, termination, reorganization or liquidation. As part of the build out, the team will continue to work on the establishment and drafting of policy and procedures for Global Entities.What You’ll Be Doing:AccountingPrepare the month end financial accounting including but not limited to:

  • Calculations, supporting schedules and journal entries for various global entities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end accruals, bank transactions and reconciliations, interest, FX and inter-company and determine any required actions.
  • Review and maintain various intercompany loan agreements and schedules.
  • Follow established accounting processes and procedures and enforce internal controls and GL administration.
  • Support Corporate Accounting team with AR, AP and GL journal entries for main operating entities, as required.
  • Support department projects and initiatives, including Finance Transformation or other process improvements.

Financial AnalysisMonthly Financial Analysis:

  • In collaboration with Manager Global Entities, use financial analysis tool to ensure the local management entities are reporting information accurately and on a timely basis.

Quarterly Analysis:

  • Prepare actual to annual budget reporting and analysis for the Global Entities (Foreign offices), understanding changes and new entities / transactions.
  • Financial analysis on the intercompany A/R and A/P balance to ensure amounts are being settled on a regular basis.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist with the monthly loads of the Global entities into HFM Hyperion
  • Contribute to the preparation of the legal stand-alone and audited financial statements (consolidated and non-consolidated) for various entities Singapore, Dutch, Hong Kong, United Kingdom entities including notes to the financial statements.
  • Liaise and respond with the internal and external auditors.

Prepare annual balance sheets and income statements for tax returns purposes for foreign reporting (roughly 100 + entities) including:

  • Canadian stand-alone entities
  • US tax package for US consolidated tax return
  • Dutch tax package for Dutch consolidated tax return
  • Foreign reporting: US Form 5471 and Canadian T1134s

Administration – Global EntitiesIn partnership with Legal, Tax and Treasury, provide support to the Directors of Finance responsible for the administration and filing requirements of the local management entities including but not limited to:

  • New entity set-up (and dissolution, as required)
  • Banking “Know your client (KYC)” and “Ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO)” requests
  • Updating of directors and commercial chamber filing requirements
  • Local Financial Statements requirements and filings
  • Employment requirements and restrictions
  • Declaring dividends on an annual basis and cash flow requirements

Maintain the global entity database together with the dividend tracking report.Assist in the preparation of reports and material for local entity board meetings.What You Bring:

  • Enrolment in CPA program preferred.
  • University degree with major in accounting / finance
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant Finance/Accounting experience
  • Experience with HFM, Sun System, Smartview and Vision preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Require a working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting and Finance.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of internal control process and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Strategic, analytical with a solid business acumen

Key Skills:

  • Ability to work both as a team player and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage one’s time to deal effectively with multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) being sensitive to the various cultures encountered on a global basis.
  • Well organized and detail oriented with an aptitude for numbers.
  • Ability to identify with issues when they arise and propose solutions to resolve them.
  • Strong accounting and financial reporting skills across different countries
