The United Nations Board of Auditors (the Board) comprises of the Auditor-Generals of China, Chile and France who are mandated to conduct audits of the United Nations and its funds and programmes. Under the supervision of the Executive Secretary, a Director of External Audit or a staff member of the Board of Auditors Secretariat the intern will: • Perform ad-hoc tasks related to audits of the United Nations, its Funds and Programmes; • Attend and summarize conferences and meetings; • Assist in organising the annual sessions of the Board of Auditors; • Perform research tasks and draft documents as needed; • Compile statistics and prepare tables as needed; • Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.Qualifications/special skillsTo qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). We are especially interested in candidates pursuing studies in the following areas: Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Auditing and Statistics. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent would be a benefit. – Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. – Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
