Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our client in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will support various accounting functions, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and reconciliations. • Perform daily accounting tasks, including data entry and financial record maintenance, under the guidance of the Controller.

• Prepare and update financial records such as general ledger accounts, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements and management reports.

• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

• Support audits, budgeting processes, and financial forecasting activities.

• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

• Maintain organized filing systems to comply with company policies and regulatory standards.

• Prepare and manage monthly and annual returns in accordance with organizational guidelines.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a similar role.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.

• Strong knowledge of billing, data entry, and financial reporting.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting softwares (Sage, Quickbooks etc)

• Experience with month-end close and monthly accrual processes.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Expected salary

$55000 – 60000 per year
