Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Lending Services within BCS includes three pillars working collaboratively to provide end to end service support to our Capital Markets and BFS business partners for lending products and supporting administrative agent responsibilities when mandated. The prime objective of the Manager is to provide strategic focus and management oversight over all operational aspects related to loan trading processing. Manages all aspects of administrative support functions for large or multiple offices or departments. Manager with HR responsibility. Typically manages and oversees supervisors and/or hourly/professional jobs and responsible for setting the overall direction for employees.The prime objective of the Manager, Fulfillment and Closing position is to lead and manage a team of operations professionals who are responsible for day-to-day loan servicing of a portfolio of syndicated and bilateral loans, in the primary and secondary markets, where RBC is either participant or agent or both.What will you do?

  • Managers will have direct reports and are responsible for performance management, coaching and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with other managers across Pillars to ensure processes are consistent and knowledge is shared.
  • Keep Associate Directors and Senior Leaders aware of any issues and escalate appropriately to ensure messaging and communication is streamlined.
  • Collaborate across pillars to provide excellent end to end servicing including identification of operational risk events and implementation of tactical controls as required.
  • Ensure team is following process controls and responsibilities including relevant SOX and key controls.
  • Respond to emails inquires and act as a point of escalation for the team, clients or internal partners including Business, Credit, Finance, Treasury etc.
  • Providing strategic focus and management oversight over all operational aspects related to loan processing & servicing including:(i) managing and implementing new products, processes, and systems;(ii) proactively identify operational and reputational risk and providing appropriate action plans to mitigate occurrences; (iv) ensuring adherence to Operating Guidelines and managing controls.
  • Creation and update the operating guideline as required.
  • Provides relief for the other Managers (across Pillars) during vacations and other absences and assists with the development of the assigned team including (i) demonstrating and promoting a continuous improvement mindset; (ii) delivering best in class service to internal and external clients; (iii) supporting staff and keeping them focused on business priorities and deliverables.
  • Responsible for the management and development of personnel including (i) communicating and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement. (ii) delivering best in class service model; (iii) upgrading the skill set through targeted training and development; (iv) executing change /improvements while supporting staff and keeping them focused on business priorities and deliverables.

What do you need to succeed?Must have’s

  • An Undergraduate Degree with a strong operational background (4+ years) and 3-5 years of related experience with proven demonstration of knowledge in lending/credit practices including knowledge of syndication practices, loan documentation, lending products, funding mechanisms in Canadian, US, UK/EU, SY markets.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage strong and effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.

Nice-to-have’s

  • 4-7 yrs in the financial industry
  • 3-5 years front line/middle office experience in lending function
  • Proven ability to showcase leadership in a team dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a cohesive team charged with effectively balancing the customer experience while managing operational and reputational risk.
  • Proficient with systems and diverse application and ease of adopting new and complex technology (i.e. the Loan Funding systems ACBS, CID, CCMS, etc.)
