Background:

Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) is an Iraqi National NGO it was established in November 2007 as an independent NGO with its main office in Tikrit city. It focuses on developing the economic sector by providing business management training courses and counseling services to entrepreneurs and potential investors, enabling them to contribute to the local economy efficiently. SEDO is considered among the most effective and qualified organizations in Iraq. It has conducted economic studies on the business environment in Iraq, identifying business opportunities and market niches for potential investors in Iraq. SEDO started humanitarian intervention in Iraq to respond to the urgent need for our beneficiaries, its work in the WASH, Livelihood, protection, Food security, and Education sectors.

 

Primary Objective:
To support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of projects by facilitating communication among stakeholders, tracking progress, and ensuring project activities are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with organizational objectives.

Job Description (Key Responsibilities):

  • Coordinate project activities and facilitate communication among project teams and stakeholders.
  • Schedule, organize, and document project meetings, including agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Track action items and follow up with team members on assigned tasks.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and status updates.
  • Support the Project Manager in planning, implementation, and project monitoring.
  • Identify project risks and issues and escalate them when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Assist in coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and project governance standards.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and facilitate effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, project support, or a similar role (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, Trello, or similar platforms is an advantage.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
