Background:
Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) is an Iraqi National NGO it was established in November 2007 as an independent NGO with its main office in Tikrit city. It focuses on developing the economic sector by providing business management training courses and counseling services to entrepreneurs and potential investors, enabling them to contribute to the local economy efficiently. SEDO is considered among the most effective and qualified organizations in Iraq. It has conducted economic studies on the business environment in Iraq, identifying business opportunities and market niches for potential investors in Iraq. SEDO started humanitarian intervention in Iraq to respond to the urgent need for our beneficiaries, its work in the WASH, Livelihood, protection, Food security, and Education sectors.
Job Summary
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality training programs within their area of expertise. The role combines technical or functional knowledge with effective training techniques to ensure employees acquire the skills and knowledge required to perform their jobs successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and learning materials.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned topics, providing accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assess training needs and customize learning solutions to meet business objectives.
- Conduct classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions.
- Evaluate trainees’ performance through assessments, observations, and feedback.
- Update training content to reflect changes in processes, policies, products, or industry standards.
- Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to identify skill gaps and recommend development plans.
- Mentor and coach employees to improve performance and competency.
- Maintain training records, attendance, and evaluation reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Subject Matter Expert, Trainer, or in a related role.
- Strong expertise in the relevant business or technical field.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience in instructional design and adult learning principles is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
