Qualifications & Preferred Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as development, social sciences, or humanitarian work.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role (support, coordination, or humanitarian/development work), including exposure to reporting, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrable experience with Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls projects.
- Proven project cycle management experience, including strategic planning, capacity development, budgeting, reporting, and monitoring & evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders and sharing learning.
- Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
The ideal candidate should also have:
- Experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into programmes.
- Some prior experience working in a consortium (highly desirable).
- Experience in developing communication/media materials and resources.
- Ability to communicate ideas in a culturally-sensitive manner and conducive to their practical application especially in similar contexts with an ability to adapt and work within a multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary environment
- Ability to gain respect of partner organisations, institutional donors and government representatives
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Good coordination and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Please note that this role will be based in Basra, Iraq. Applicants must possess a valid passport/visa stating the right to live and work in Iraq.
